PM516: Biostatistical Consulting

Welcome!

PM516 is a sequence of two 1-unit courses designed to prepare students for professional work in biostatistical consulting.

Across the sequence, students develop the habits that matter most in practice: asking better questions, defining scope, making defensible analytic decisions, and communicating clearly with non-statistician collaborators.

The Courses

PM516A — Biostatistical Consulting (Foundations)
Skill-building course focused on consultations, scoping, analytic judgment, and communication through structured practice and a team-based investigator project.

PM516B — Biostatistical Consulting (Practicum)
Independent consulting engagement where each student supports an investigator through an authentic analysis project under faculty supervision.
